It’s Sunday night at Wellspring Books in Mesa and psychics… are well into their monthly workshop, "Hello Again! From the Other Side." About 40 people sit among books, crystals and burning incense hoping to hear from departed friends, loved ones — even pets.
"I remember having experiences as a little kid — answering questions before they were asked," Trisha Dolan stated. "I’ve always heard voices and I just thought everybody else did, too."
To offer this workshop, …(Trisha) Dolan became licensed by Mesa and Arizona, a process that requires photos and fingerprints of psychics to fight fraud.
"Yep," Dolan says with a grin. "We’re official."
Still, skeptics contend such psychics do little more than play on people’s vulnerabilities at often the worst time in their lives.
But on this night, there’s plenty of repeat customers who say ….that’s simply not true.
"You see people here who really have unanswered issues with dead relatives that find some comfort in this," (Jazz) Zatari says. "I like watching people when they leave. They feel better. You learn something whether someone comes through for you or not."
